The second day of Amazon India Fashion Week spring/summer 2017 saw a distinct focus on innovations in textile. Anavila Misra worked on creating textures with linen and adding functionality to saris. Abraham & Thakore wanted to take khadi out of the “politically correct” space it has traditionally belonged to. Rajesh Pratap Singh said he often goes back to the sartorial landscape of rural India and that was the inspiration behind this season’s collection. Linen crepes and ikats custom woven in Neemrana, Rajasthan form the basis of his collection.
