Mark your calendars for the twice-a-year spectacle known as Taipei Fashion Week. Top Taiwan designers will showcase their 2022 spring-summer collections during the 15-day event, which starts on Oct. 3. Formosa News reporter Stephany Yang gives us a preview.

Models strut down the runway. This is the media preview for Taipei Fashion Week. The event will showcase the works of 16 Taiwanese designer brands.

The 15-day Taipei Fashion Week will be held physically as well as virtually. Entertainer Jia Yong-jie is the ambassador of the show, which has sustainability at its core.

This time, I’m seeing a lot of attention paid to the issue of the environment. This means the industry is not solely focused on beautiful garments or following the fashion trends, but on how fashion can impact environmental sustainability.

The event will feature a series of online and physical designer popup stores, as well as physical and virtual runway shows. Taiwan’s deputy culture minister said that Taipei Fashion Week is always seeking innovation, change, and breakthroughs.

At Taipei Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2022, our goal is to seek innovation, seek change, seek breakthrough, and seek integration. In the spirit of these four goals, we were able to organize a physical and virtual show on schedule, even amid the epidemic. We’ve put together a good overview of Taiwan’s clothing history, from the 1960s to 2020.

Taipei Fashion Week will be held at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park and other areas of downtown Taipei from Oct. 3-17.
