This is the full fashion show and review of Anissa Aida’s spring summer 2022 collection, off Portugal fashion week. Tunisian-born Anissa Aida is a Parson’s School of Design graduate who interned under Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs, A.P.C in Paris, and threeASFOUR in New York. Her label minimalist, Anissa Aida is made up of collections that meld Tunisian and Japanese ancestral elements. In this spring summer collection, there are parallels in the structure, colors, textures, and designs of kimonos, djellabas, caftans, and keikogi jackets which are all fused to create a North African Esat-Asian collection. Patchwork pieces reminiscent of Japanese Boro aesthetics are incorporated to retain the brand’s sustainable ethic. The label’s signature Mediterranean blue and white color scheme is integrated with grey and pinstripe designs to tone things down.
