“One day I dreamed of it, I worked on it and today it is a dream come true. I can finally tell you my big secret,” Jirau wrote on her Instagram in Spanish. “I am the first Victoria’s Secret model with Down syndrome!” The Love Cloud Collection marks the first campaign under the new creative director, Raúl Martinez, who joined in January.

It also comes months after the company said goodbye to its signature “Angels” and rebranded with seven women including actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas and LGBTQ model and activist Valentina Sampaio, the first transgender model to be featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

In 2020, Jirau’s modeling career came to a high during her debut at New York Fashion Week and has launched an online store featuring clothing and accessories titled “Alavett.” Jirau has been featured in People, Univision and Vogue Mexico.
