“I just participated in the closing finale in bridal couture week. The inspiration for this show is actually the rural woman. This is all about the rural empowerment. Many years ago we started a project “bunyaad” which mean foundation and shifted all our embroideries workshop to the villages in southern Punjab district we started working with villages and specially rural women and it gives me great pride to present the collection that was entirely done by these women. So, I am extremely proud and very happy to say that we actually contributed to women not only just in terms of economy but also in terms of skill developments.”

“ So, the inspiration behind my collection is the heritage, the culture of Pak-Indo, you know, the subcontinent. We have used all zalozi stitches, gotta cora tepa and the silhouettes basically used for the bridal couture are very traditional like farshi gharara, farshi lahengas, long, flowing shirts.”

And bridal couture week always helps and promotes this fashion in Pakistan and you know promoting this solid image of Pakistan that how fashionable a country we are so I am loving the impact we have in the whole international market, the name we have and how bridal couture week is promoting the whole fashion industry in Pakistan.”

“Approximately 29 designers across the country which are presenting their collections. A large people from different walks of life they are coming out here. This is actually the biggest bridal couture week and a number of people are willing to attend this and practically in the scenario where people are (unclear) you know the season of weddings as well.”

STORYLINE:
Pantene HUM Bridal Fashion Couture week came to a close in Lahore Sunday (18 DEC 2022).
Pakistan’s biggest fashion extravaganza event’s final day also had a line-up of celebrities walking as show-stoppers for various brands.
The three-day event saw some of the most renowned designers of Pakistan unveil their Spring/Summer 2022 bridal collection, while aspiring and upcoming designers were also given the opportunity to showcase their talent at the grand event.
Sunday, with eight shows on schedule, had a special finale featuring a solo show by the designer Rizwan Beyg, recipient of the Tamgah-e-Imtiaz award last year for his services to rural development and female empowerment under the Bunyaad initiative. His collection titled ‘Jashn’ was entirely embellished by the rural women trained under the initiative by the brand in various techniques and styles of embroidery, and was a homage to the hard work and dedication of these amazing women.
“It gives me great pride to present the collection that was entirely done by these women. So, I am extremely proud and very happy to say that we actually contributed to women not only just in terms of economy but also in terms of skill developments,” he said.
