(14 Mar 2019) STYLISH YET SUSTAINABLE DESIGNS ON DISPLAY AT LOTUS MAKE-UP INDIA FASHION WEEK
\nIndian designers are trying to make the environment a priority by increasingly using sustainable means to create their high-end collections.
\nSustainable fashion is the main theme at the Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week being held in New Delhi.
\nMaking bangles and head scarves with waste fabrics, and adding hemp-based cloths to accentuate their designs, they wanted to ensure every ensemble had an environment-friendly element.
\nFor their shows Thursday (14 MARCH 2019), Indian designers Nikita Mhaisalkar, Prreeti Jaiin Nainutia, Pooja Shroff, and Siddhartha Bansal, used eco-friendly fabrics and even waste fabrics from previous collections to create clothing for a variety of seasons.
\n“We might as well use it and create some beautiful pieces like we have,” Shroff said about designers increasingly re-using waste textiles in an attempt to reduce clothing pollution and the throw-away culture.
\nThe four-day fashion show runs from March 13 to 16 and will feature several designers from India.<\/p>\n
