A Puerto Rican model has become the first woman with Down syndrome to be featured in a Victoria\u2019s Secret campaign.<\/p>\n

Sof\u00eda Jirau, 25, is one of 18 women appearing in advertisements for the brand\u2019s new \u201cLove Cloud\u201d collection, released on Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne day I dreamed of it, I worked on it and today it is a dream come true. I can finally tell you my big secret . . . I am the first Victoria\u2019s Secret model with Down syndrome,\u201d Jirau excitedly announced in an Instagram post she shared with her 204,000 followers on Monday.<\/p>\n

Jirau kickstarted her modeling career in Puerto Rico in 2019. The same year, she launched her own successful online fashion store, Alavett. (Alavett, or \u201cI love it,\u201d is Jirau\u2019s favorite phrase, according to the site.)<\/p>\n
