\n\u201cThis is a composition blending my European heritage and outlook with the beauty and traditions of Africa\u2014reflecting today\u2019s diverse and powerful new world, where rebirth and fresh possibilities are possible.\u201d Olivier Rousteing<\/p>\n
For his Spring-Summer 2023 runway presentation, @olivier_rousteing wanted to channel a moment of rebirth. Couture-inspired elements \u2014 draping, braiding, patchwork, weaving and master sculpting \u2014 highlight the expert craftsmanship that serves as a foundation for the Balmain Atelier, while references to the great thinkers of the Renaissance age and the rich traditions of Africa inspire a fashion reboot in line with the Creative Director\u2019s innovative vision.<\/p>\n
With over 8000 #BALMAINARMY members in attendance to watch the show during the #BALMAINFESTIVAL in support of @red, the designer also took this opportunity to launch a collective call to consciousness as it relates to sustainability and transparency in the industry. A large percentage of the runway\u2019s designs is thus crafted in earth-friendly materials or raw, undyed fabrics. #BALMAINSS23<\/p>\n
