The Cosmetology Instructor Program is a 1 semester course offered to cosmetologists, aestheticians, and manicurists holding current Tennessee licenses. Enrollees will train with our licensed instructors, learning the teaching skills necessary to become Tennessee licensed aesthetics instructors, manicurist instructors, or cosmetology instructors. Program lessons include:
\n\u2022 Lesson plan writing and curriculum building
\n\u2022 Organized recordkeeping
\n\u2022 Understanding and explaining state laws and regulations
\n\u2022 Effective teaching methods in both classroom and laboratory settings
\n\u2022 Conducting practical demonstrations
\n\u2022 Classroom management
\nTrainees will shadow instructors, and will teach, under supervision, in aesthetics, manicuring, or cosmetology classes. Here, instructors will observe, evaluate and critique.
\nAs a licensed instructor, one may teach in public, private, vocational, industrial, or technical schools. Teaching, however, is not the only option for course graduates. Licensed instructors also may enjoy increased credibility outside academics as:
