Soumitra Mondal’s debut designs at Lakme India Fashion Week 2007.

Soumitra Mondal is a regular at Lakme Fashion Week, having made his debut as part of the 2007 Fall-Winter edition of the show. He has subsequently participated in various fashion events, including Lakme Fashion Week under the established designer category.

The designer is inspired by Indian art, Indian textiles and Indian culture – all of which play a part in the styling and essence of his collections. The garments are hand-crafted in fabrics like fine cotton, linen, khadi, hand-woven fabrics and traditional silk fabrics. The focus of the designer’s collections is on simplicity along with wearability of the styles.
