Hemant & Nandita’s ‘Summer of ’69’ was inspired by the ’60s. The designers brought back the mod silhouettes, pop motifs of flowers and sunburnt colours in a manner fitting to the current times. The idea behind Dev R Nil’s ‘Journey’ came from a documentary about hippies. Without literally translating the nostalgic decade, the duo worked on the mindset of the free-spirited hippie to create clothes befitting the modern woman. Detail was paid to subtle variations in prints and seamless merging of embroideries. Payal Pratap’s ‘Vintage Rose’ came from the designer’s continuous reference to flowers. Pratap worked on creating a commercially appealing collection by focusing on prints and engineered embroidery to create ready to wear pieces.
