DIY skincare is cool and all, but just because something is natural that doesn’t mean it’s good for your skin. In this video registered nurse and licensed esthetician Carla Nelson of Fleur de Lis Beauty and I talk about the dos and don’ts of DIY skincare. We’re talking lemons, coconut oil, baking soda, aloe vera, cucumber, and other “natural” ingredients used for acne treatment, acne removal, oily skin, etc. We won’t take everything away though, we’ll show you how to use *some* of these items safely in your skincare routine.
Carla and her sister Wendy Jules are both registered nurses and they own Fleur de Lis Beauty located at 1468 Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn, NYC. You can follow their business on Instagram:
