The treatment of esthetic areas has received a great deal of attention since the turn of the century. The constant search for a natural, harmonious, and pleasant smile clearly reflects the fact that there are more-demanding and better-informed patients. An accurate knowledge of facial topography and the dynamics of how the patient performs their basic oral functions – such as speaking, swallowing, and chewing – is essential and must form the basis of any analysis of intraoral aspects.The presentation discusses strategies of how to relate appropriately facial and intraoral aspects. The presentation also discusses the basics of smile analysis and the proper techniques to take images to assist in proper diagnosis and treatment planning
